From Theatre
to Curation
My background and experience has led me to understand film, movement, and design through the lens of a former performer, so I see curating as a choreography in itself, and the creative process as an inevitable act of collaboration.
VENEZUELAN-BORN (1981), SPAIN BASED (Since 2012)
Studying drama marked the beginning of my entire career, setting in motion a series of events where one thing led to another. I started as a theatre actor, which eventually led me to contemporary dance thanks to my then body language teacher, Rocio Rovira—a beautiful Chilean mime artist with the most expressive hands and a lovely white bob hairstyle.
While pursuing my Bachelor's degree in contemporary dance, I was also studying graphic design, and working as both an actor and a producer for a children's radio show. During this time in Caracas, I also worked as a designer for a few theatre and dance companies.
My growing interest in dance photography and dance film led me to pursue artistic photography, which took me to study in Finland and later Spain. After living in different cities I came back to Granada, where I shifted my focus to programming and film curating, eventually establishing Curiosa, the Monthly Short Film Showcase, where I curate short films each month.
